Uffe Elbæk was born in the Aarhus area in 1954 and has, as he says, already managed to live several lives since. Personally as well as professionally. He is a Danish social worker, author, entrepreneur, politician and political leader of the party, The Alternative.

From October 3, 2011 to December 2012 he served as the Danish Minister of Culture.

His passion for the power of creativity is obvious too; Uffe is the founder and former Principal of the KaosPilots International School of New Business Design and Social Innovation, located in Aarhus. The KaosPilots inspired the creation of another international school located in Switzerland. He was also one of the initiators for the cultural entrepreneur-milieu called Frontløberne.

Network Dinner Speaker

In November 2001 and again in 2005, Uffe Elbæk was elected to the City Council of Aarhus. He stepped down as city counsellor in Aarhus when he was hired by the City of Copenhagen to be the CEO of the World Outgames 2009, a position he held from 2007 to 2009.

In July 2010, Elbæk founded the consulting company Change the Game which focused on leadership training skills, political campaigning and social innovation.

Uffe Elbæk is also on the board of several Danish and international organisations and has over the years received numerous honours and awards, ranging from his appointment as ambassador for the local Aarhus premier league football club AGF to Knight of the Dannebrog. Today, he lives with his partner, Jens, in a big old apartment in the heart of Copenhagen.

Uffe will be joining us as a speaker at the Network Dinner on 1 November alongside Mikal Hallstrup, Founder and Global CEO of Designit, and Flemming Besenbacher, Chairman of the Carlsberg Foundation and Supervisory Board at Carlsberg A/S.
