Peter Lund Madsen is Denmark’s darling scientist. So much so that he is better known throughout the country under his petname “Brain-Madsen” (Hjerne-Madsen). Peter's work spans impressively wide and he has written screenplays and performed on stage; hosts a weekly podcast dubbed “The Brainbox”, has written extensively, gives talks and teaches and oh, ya: He is Dr. Med. and has specialised in neurology and psychology.

"THE BASIS OF HUMAN CREATIVITY IS THINKING THOUGHTS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN THOUGHT BEFORE"

Peter Lund Madsen is Denmark’s darling scientist. So much so that he is better known throughout the country under his petname “Brain-Madsen” (Hjerne-Madsen). Peter is one of this rare breed, who is incredibly geeky and at the same time excellent at communicating and unexhaustively curious. His work spans impressively wide and has written screenplays and performed at the prestigious Bellevue Theatre; hosts a weekly podcast dubbed “The Brainbox”, where the premise is that if you know enough about something and are able to talk about it in an interesting way, then you are welcome on the show. That sounds random, but its not at all. Its real. He has also written extensively, gives talks and teaches and then of course he is Dr. Med. and has specialised in neurology and psychology.

Peter will come to Creativity World Forum with a perspective creativity from science and with answer the challenge “How to cultivate and nurture your creative spirit?”. He has a great understanding of the human condition, empathy and how we evolve as people and as cultures. His talk will allow us to understand the conditions for creativity – and as he puts it “appreciate being human”.

Ready for an appetiser?

Check out Peter’s thoughts on “The human brain and creativity” or an intro to his book on the evolution of the human brain: Dr Zuckorof’s testament or subscribe to the podcast here.

Unfortunately this is all in Danish, if you do not speak that Nordic tongue, hold your breadth till the  Creativity World Forum, where Peter will give of his rare English language appearances. (and don’t worry, he is as fabulously entertaining in English as in Danish…)
